How do I by-pass a volume potentiometer?
I have some MAudio active speakers with a terrible crackly Volume Control that cuts out the sound completely when I turn it beyond 50% or 60%.
I can't find any where that has the potentiometer that will fit the PCB.
I though maybe I could remove it all together, by pass the pot and use my iPod as the volume control. This means the speakers would be on full power all the time. Is this possible? If so how do I wire it? The potentiometer seems to have 4 parallel channels as there are 12 contact points in the PCB.
Can't tell without knowing how the potentiometer is wired.
6 pins should be used for stereo (left and right). The other 2 or 4 may be GND and just used to hold the potentiometer. The the other two may be an ON/OFF switch.
